Hello

Here is everything at a glance. Choose a card to go there.

Send a track

Each track is the music for one genre and one protocol. In the app it plays under QiTone's tones, which the app adds itself, so do not put the tones in your file.

Music files have to be at least 2 minutes long.

What you have sent

My music and plays

How plays are counted:

1 minute = 1 playA play counts once someone has listened to your track for a minute.
Loops count onceIf your track loops for an hour, that is still one play.
Up to 10 a dayOne listener can add at most 10 plays of your track in a day.
Paid: inside protocolsPlays inside protocols, sessions, playlists and journeys earn pay.
Not counted: samplesSamples on your page in the Artists library never count.
Counted, not paid: single playsA piece played on its own from the Library, or by a listener without a subscription, shows here but does not earn pay.

Where music is needed

What listeners play, set against what artists have recorded. Recording where listening is high and artist music is thin gets your music heard most. Counts from the last 90 days, across all of QiTone.

Getting paid

QiTone pays you once a quarter, through Stripe. Your tax details (a W-9, or a W-8 outside the US) and bank details go only to Stripe; QiTone never sees them. If you are in the US and paid above the IRS threshold in a year, Stripe sends your 1099 the following January.

1

Set up with Stripe

About 5 minutes: your name, tax details and the bank account for your pay.

Not listed? Stripe can't yet pay artists in your country through QiTone. Write to hello@nextlifetimeventuresllc.com and we'll work it out with you.

2

Stripe checks your details

Usually takes a few minutes. If Stripe needs anything else, this step tells you.

3

Paid every quarter

After each quarter closes, your pay goes to your bank.

If you are due a 1099 (US, above the IRS threshold), it appears here each January for the year before.

Share

Your public page has your story and samples of your tracks, with buttons to get QiTone. In the app, it opens your artist page so listeners can switch you on. Every listener you bring in grows the pool for every artist.

Thank you for making music for QiTone.

QiTone shares its subscription revenue with the artists people listen to. Each quarter, 30% of what QiTone receives from subscriptions (after the app stores' fees) goes into the artist pool, shared across that quarter's plays (up to 5 cents a play). As QiTone grows, the pool grows, and every artist earns more. Every listener you bring in lifts everyone. Your quarters appear here as they close.
